Shoaib Akhtar fumes at PCB after defeat to Zimbabwe: Average players, average management
By India Today Web Desk: Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has lashed out at the Pakistan cricketing system including the Pakistan Cricket Board after Babar Azam's men failed to chase down 131 runs against Zimbabwe in the T20 World Cup. Playing at the Optus Stadium on Thursday, 27 October, Babar Azam and his team gave a poor account of themselves as Zimbabwe held their nerves and defended 3 runs in the final 3 balls in the Super-12 stage of the tournament, to earn a famous victory. Pakistan's back to back losses, first against India and then against Zimbabwe has put them in a precarious position where they are staring at an early knockout in the tournament.
Akhtar lashed out at the team and said that it was embarrassing that this side is losing against Zimbabwe. The pacer further added that the team and its management were average and that is why they have given average results
"Very very embarrassing. Really embarrassing. Keep selecting average people, average players, average team management and an average PCB and this will be the outcome. I am super disappointed and you are losing against Zimbabwe now? It will be very difficult to qualify now, you will have to depend on this team, that team. Why do you put yourself in such a position. That's why I said it in a video two months back that you keep selecting the average people and you will keep getting the average outcome. Very disappointed," Akhtar launched a scathing attack on Twitter.

Earlier he had slammed Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan after the duo's consistent batting failures in the Asia Cup. Akhtar had laid the blame on the opening duo for their loss in the final against Sri Lanka.
On the day, Pakistan's batting failed as a whole. The opening duo went back to the hut in the first six overs and then Sikander Raza and co. picked wickets in the crucial moments of the game to turn this clash into a famous win.
